A Belgium-based company is expected to launch its first battery-electric mini excavator. Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe is likely to launch the HX19e excavator between April 7-13 in Munich, Germany. With the strongest battery in its class, the excavator can run for up to 10 hours, easily providing a full day of productive, zero-emission working. The new Hyundai HX19e electric compact tracked excavator has a minimal tail overhang.

Hyundai also revealed that the excavator can easily provide a full day of productive, zero-emission work with the flexibility to work in noise-restricted areas. The HX19e is also available with a cabin or optional canopy version. The company has revealed that the precise operation of hydraulic attachments is made easy with proportional fingertip control.

The HX19e is fully electric, which makes it very quiet for greater operator comfort and concentration. It can lower the boom and arm after work and leave the equipment in a safe place using the hydraulic accumulator. The excavator also has a safety valve on the dozer blade cylinder that provides reassurance when loading and digging.

With the biggest battery in its class, the excavator can be charged using a standard car charger, making it very easy to use. It has Standard 2-way auxiliary hydraulic piping that allows the machine to handle hammer or shear attachments.

The company revealed that the optional factory-fitted hydraulic line can operate any hydraulic coupler for quick attachment changes from inside the cabin. The excavator offers greater stability with extendable tracks and an adjustable dozer blade.

Reports have revealed that the excavator’s battery powers a 13-kW electric motor that, in turn, drives an open center hydraulic system, which the company said delivers similar performance to the HX19A mini excavator powered by a 12.1-kW (16.2 hp) diesel engine.

The battery-electric machine has the same 16-kN (3,597 lbf.) bucket breakout force along with a slightly higher 9.4-kN (2,113 lbf.) dipper arm breakout force. The excavator’s maximum digging depth is 2,340mm (92 in.), and the maximum digging reach is 3,940mm (155 in).

It comes with a five-year Hi MATE telematics system subscription, enabling full monitoring of machine activity and performance. The optional remote management system uses GPS satellite technology to provide the highest level of service and product support.

The company claims that Hyundai excavators are designed with state-of-the-art features for greater protection and the highest safety standards. The excavator is also integrated with Auto-Safety Lock feature to prevent accidental operation.

“With low noise due to having no engine and a spacious interior, both our cabin and canopy versions have been designed for maximum convenience,” said the company in a statement.

The excavator’s 5-inch LCD display monitor allows easy control of machine’s settings and quick access to all critical functions and operations.

The LCD monitor is IP68 waterproof, which is especially important when working in a canopy model, and the excavator’s cab model has a full glass door to provide improved visibility.
